Who Are You?
By: Gary Owens
I am a 41 year-old baseball fanatic who can't get enough of the game. I cry from the end of the World Series until Spring training begins. After coaching and playing church league softball (it was the only thing available in my area) for 20 years, I gave it up to coach my daughter in T-Ball last year. I got tired of grown men acting like kids; at least the kids had an excuse because they're still kids. I work for the city government telling business how much taxes they need to pay (sometimes it helps when dealing with the parents). I also keeps stats for a local Division I mens and womens (nationally ranked) basketball teams, as well as being a reporter for the local newspaper during the high school football season. I have the greatest wife in the world and 2 children. My daughter, 8, want's to play ball again this year and my son, 4, is a bruiser. He does have a severe learning disability, so any of you other Christians like me (Jeff T.), I would certainly covet your prayers for him and us. Dealing with him has cut down on a lot of other family activities, but we do the best we can to live a normal, Godly life. Thanks for the great idea of this site. Even though I don't comment as much as others do, it helps me a great deal just to read some of the other posts.
