ADVICE

Thanks for the advice and Kathy I think the word is preconceived. But anyway,Paul we are strictly an 11 yo team. Since I am the commisioner of our 11-12 yo league I am very strict about allowing another age group to grab an younger player. I think it hurts the player and the younger team. This year our 11's are very strong and since I am also the manager of the 11's the 12's can forget about it.
I think the problem with allowing every eleigable 11 yo to try out gets back to the cutting situation. Of all the hard things I have done in my life, that phone call to the cut kids has to be the most difficult. Perhaps I am a coward but damn its a horrible thing to do. Whats worst however is just not inviting them back for a second tryout, in other words just ignore them. This of course is compounded by the parents who think their child is a Roberto Clemente which only makes the situation worse.
Paul you are right about knowing the 6-8 players on the team already but since I am only carrying 12 this year as opposed to 15 in the past, this way everybody plays, that still leaves 40 something kids to try out for 4 positions, the odds are not good thus causeing even more cuts.
I don't know, I run my own million dollar insurance agency and beleive me the decisions I face with my business are a piece of cake compared to this.
Thanks for the advice.
