Bat Selection for 14 year old

I agree with SingleL and Cbonk... As an 8th grader I would recommend getting ready for HS (unless there is no desire to do that) and go with -5 drop. Length is going to depend on your son's size but I unless he's smaller than average, I would recommend at least 32 inches...

I would also, suggest looking for clearance sales from last year's models... With all the hype, there isn't really that much difference between bats. Any of the top brands today will perform comparable to the other... It the Hitter that makes the real difference.

My son's team, has every type and model you can think of... Z-cores, AirAttacks IIs and IIIs, TPX, Dimarini, you name it just about... and you know which bat gets the most use... An old Easton C-core reflex. It has lasted heavy duty use for well over a year (spring and 2 winter ball seasons) and it still has very good pop. It has out lasted 3 Z-cores, several TPXs, a couple Air Attacks, and an Omaha...
