4th year 3rd string

I'm with Coach Matt. Find a different program for your son. I don't know where you live but there must be at least one other youth program in your area. The treatment your son has received is a disgrace to youth football everywhere. A four year player should be playing more than he is. Even if he is not as talented as some other kids, his persistince is enough to earn him playing time. And for a coach to curse at the kids in inexcusable. He should be reported to the board that runs the program and to the league itself. This man has no business coaching children. Our primary goal should be to teach them the game of football. Winning is a byproduct of properly executed skills and disciplined play. To make winning the most important thing is a mistake that too many youth coaches make. Everybody likes to win, but at what cost? Every year there are stories of falsified birth certificates and school records and inhuman ways coaches try to get kids to make weight. Anyway, your son seems to really want to play football so I think you should find him a place he CAN play.
