if im playing, im interested in stats...if im coaching pro sports, im interested in stats....if im coaching youth, the only stat i care about is, how many showed up for the game? do we have enough to play? or do we have to forfeit???!!!!!
what ive done inside the redzone, or is johnny running better to the wide side or short side, dosnt really interest me...too many variables....not reletive...can they block? tackle? do they know to put their mouth peice in? are their hip pads on right? are they on the field when they re suppose to be? blah blah blah....stats are for when you re playing Madden '99, not for youth football...who cares if Johnny gained 7000 yds rushing this year? next year he'll be playing off tackle and outside lb...i dont mean to sound crass, but keeping stats only causes more problems than it solves, and the kids get into thinking other than team....if you can understand what im saying....if its baseball, ok...but not football....K.I.S.S.(keep it simple stupid)....thats hard enough...i already have enough gray hair just watching the tapes, dont need to read about it too......hahaha
