Hanni,

I assume the reason that you signed you son up for footbal was that you wanted him to learn how to play football, so in essence, you have taken the first step in teaching him, you signed him up in a youth program. You need to trust that his coaches are teaching him properly. If you want to carry this one step further, talk with his head coach and ask if there are any drills that you can do at home with him that could make him better. You also need to understand that football is not a one year sport, it takes most kids few years to really learn the things needed to play the game, this could especially be true in your case, if you just moved from Germany because he has not been exposed to any type of football at all. Let me give you one other piece of advice, be patient and talk to you son as to how he feels about the playing football often, playing time for newer kids can be slim and I have found that in most cases, the kids themselves understand this, its the adults that do not want to give these kid the chance to learn before they start planting things in there heads about playing time and quitting.
