DC's Offensive Playbook

By: New Coach

DC,

I received your email yesterday. Thank you very much. I will be reading it over for the next few days. To answer your questions:

I coach in a league that goes by grades as oppossed to ages. Last season I coached 3rd and 4th graders, but this season I will be coaching 5th and 6th graders, primarily 10's and 11's with a few 12's mixed in.

Last season I ran the Power I and had the #1 offense in the league. This season with your help, I hope to dominate the league offensively so badly while the kids have a lot of fun doing it, that the league will rethink their must use 4-3 defensive idea.

We have four weeks to get ready for the season, one without pads and three with. We must run a 4-3 defense that tells us where each player on defense lines up. They line up like this:

DG: must line up in the "framework" of the OG's. (framework means their head must be within the shoulders of)
DE: must line up in the "framework" of the TE's. If their is a SE, the DE's must move down within the framework of the OT's.
MLB: must line up within the framework of the Center and 5 yards off the line of scrimmage.
OLB: must line up within the framework of the OT's and 5 yards off the line of scrimmage. If their is a SE, he must split the difference between the DE (who is on the OT)and the SE and remain 5 yards off the LOS
CB: must be at least 3 yards outside the OLB and 5 yards off the LOS.
Safeties: must line up at least 10 yards off the LOS, but can line up anywhere else.

On offense coach: we cannot run an unbalance line.

Those are all of our stupid league rules, please help me obliviate the defenses in our league so badly that they will be forced too allow us to run any defense we want.

Also DC, I will have for the next two years a kid who without a doubt be the starting QB in high school. He can hit a reciever with the ball everytime upto 30 yards. I had him last year, but we only threw the ball 5 times, which were dropped all 5 times on perfect passes that would have went for TD's. Defensively, everyone in this league uses their CB's for containment purposes and shoots everyone else towards the line of scrimmage on the snap because noone has found a way to pass the ball yet, till this coming season. For all these reasons, I would truly love to recieve the passing portion of your playbook.

Again DC, thank you so much for your time and energy.
