2004 Football Season

This year has been one of greatness for my son and myself. Last year my son learned nothing of the game of football . This was our main objective last year . We were let down in many ways. My son had no desire to play after last years disappointment. I bribed him to play this year . He was extremly reluctant. I wanted him to play for a few reasons. The most obvious was that he was a boy and boys play football. The next logical reason was that I am a single parent and my son has no real role model as to what men are really like. The last was that I wanted him to be more physcially active for his health. We gained more than we expected to from this experience. My son developed a new found love for the game itself inspired by his coaches. He started to look foward to his practices and games. This year I could see his love and knowledge for the game growing inside him. I know that I learned a few things as well. My son learned a few more lessons as well from his coaches which I never expected . They tought him to believe in himself and others will as well. He also learned if you desire it badly enough you can do it. They gave him the burning passion to want to win but they gave him the knowledge to learn from a loss as well. He got a better sense of respect that you had to give it to receive it. He has always been a courteous child but never truly had an understanding of what respect was about. He grew a greater knowledge of what a team is and how each member is equally important. The lesson Coach tought us both was that we are truly BLESSED and should be thankful of our blessings. Our coaches gave us thier all and in return we gave them our all. Our children learn by example . I have to say my child had two of the finest examples. They gave more than a knowledge and love of the game. We look foward to next year and hope we should be as lucky to have an experience of this nature again. I would like to say that each one of you have that chance to impact each one of these chilrens lives in a positive manor. What you say and do does matter. Thank you to our coaches who gave so much of themselves. WE ARE ALL BLESSED!!!!!!!!!!!!!
