The coming of Christ
This week I would like to discuss the coming of Christ. Such is promised in the Word. The second coming is
in two phases. First of all, He comes for His saints; this we
refer to as the Rapture. Secondly, He will come back to earth
with His saints; this is called the Revelation. At the first
phase, He does not touch the earth, but the saints meet Him in
the air. At the second phase, He comes to the earth with His
saints. In this study, we are concerned only with the first phase.
The Bible is filled with warnings to be ready. He
could come any time. No human knows when this will be. "Be
ye therefore ready also: for the Son of man cometh at an hour
when ye think not: [Luke 12:40]. We are warned to be ready for
when He comes; there will be no time to make things rights. We
need to be ready so we will not be ashamed when we see Him. "And
now, little children, abide in Him; that, when He shall appear,
we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before Him at His coming."
[1 John 2:28]
Dear reader friend, if you have never repented of
your sin and received the Savior, Jesus Christ, you are not ready,
for there will be no time to repent-no second chance. The Bible
says (Luke 13:3), "
except ye repent, ye shall all likewise
perish." Man repents or perishes.
